AEW Summer Blockbuster Delivers Exciting Matches from Portland

PORTLAND, Oregon — AEW’s Summer Blockbuster event ignited the Moda Center on June 11, 2025, featuring thrilling matches and high-stakes drama leading into the upcoming All In Texas pay-per-view.
The night kicked off with an epic 30-minute draw between Will Ospreay and Swerve Strickland, both vying for supremacy in the ring. After intense exchanges, Strickland called for a sudden death match, but the moment was cut short as the Death Riders surrounded the ring. The Young Bucks intervened, handcuffing Strickland and delivering superkicks, prompting Ospreay to jump in to take the attack on behalf of Strickland.
Later, Mistico faced Blake Christian, securing a victory with a stunning Spanish Fly. Post-match, MJF challenged Mistico to a match at Grand Slam Mexico, taunting him as “sloppy Sin Cara.” Mistico responded by announcing the match and then attacking MJF, leading to a brawl involving the Hurt Syndicate.
In trios action, MJF and his Hurt Syndicate teammates Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin faced off against Speedball Mike Bailey, Kevin Knight, and Mascara Dorada. The Hurt Syndicate emerged victorious, with MJF tearing off Dorada’s mask, a clear sign of disrespect in wrestling culture.
Another highlight of the night was the contract signing for the AEW Unified Championship, featuring Kenny Omega and Kazuchika Okada. Tensions escalated when Don Callis interrupted, leading to Okada attacking Omega with a baton, injuring him and sending him to a stretcher.
Adam Page, set to confront Moxley at All In, was ambushed by the Death Riders but managed to escape briefly, vowing to hunt them down. Meanwhile, TayJay, consisting of Tay Melo and Anna Jay, showcased their teamwork against Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford, bringing the evening to a fervent close.
With the anticipation of All In Texas on the horizon, Summer Blockbuster successfully blended dramatic storylines with unforgettable in-ring action.
