ENVIGADO, Colombia — Facundo Batista scored his first goal for Atlético Nacional on Friday in a 1-0 victory over Alianza FC during the Liga BetPlay 2025 match at the Estadio Polideportivo Sur.

The Uruguayan forward opened the scoring in the 11th minute, receiving an impressive pass from Jorman Campuzano. Batista controlled the ball with his chest and quickly finished past goalkeeper Juan Camilo Chaverra, putting Atlético Nacional ahead.

This goal was significant for Batista, who joined Atlético Nacional from Polissya of Ukraine. The striker had played in three previous league matches without scoring before finding the net against Alianza.

Atlético Nacional created several scoring opportunities early on, including a free-kick taken by Billy Arce that troubled Chaverra before he managed to maintain control of the ball.

As the match progressed, Atlético Nacional maintained possession and continued to threaten Alianza’s defense. However, despite several chances, they could not extend their lead.

In the second half, Alianza FC pressed for an equalizer, with Jesús Muñoz nearly scoring, but the defense held strong. Coach Javier Gandolfi made substitutions to tighten the team’s control and secure the lead.

Despite the tension, Atlético Nacional held on for the win, continuing their strong performance in the Liga BetPlay. The victory marked a positive moment for Batista, establishing himself within the team.
