BUFFALO, N.Y. — Customers of M&T Bank reported difficulties accessing their accounts on Friday morning, starting at approximately 5 a.m. The bank acknowledged the situation in a statement posted on social media.

According to M&T Bank, they are currently experiencing intermittent issues with their online and mobile banking platforms. “We are experiencing issues impacting certain platforms, including Mobile. We are working closely with our technology team to resolve this matter,” a spokesperson for the bank said.

As of 9 a.m., an online service outage monitoring website indicated that more than 2,000 reports of issues had been logged. Many customers took to social media platforms, including Facebook and X, expressing their concerns about not receiving their direct deposit paychecks that morning.

M&T Bank responded to customer concerns on social media, stating, “We are working as quickly as possible to resolve the issue, and we apologize for the inconvenience. Thank you for your patience.” The bank serves customers across 13 states on the East Coast and Washington, D.C.

As the bank works to fix the problems, they have encouraged customers to stay updated through their official channels.
