College Teams Unveil Retro Uniforms for Week 7 Matchups
University Park, PA — The Week 7 college football season is igniting nostalgia as teams don retro uniforms. Notably, Wisconsin, Penn State, and Texas A&M have opted for sleek, minimalist designs reminiscent of past eras. In a bold move, the Montana Grizzlies will showcase more vibrant throwback uniforms that pay homage to the state’s rich mining history.
Montana’s homecoming weekend will feature uniforms in copper, silver, and gold. The helmets will display a vintage cartoon logo of ‘Otto the slobbering bear,’ a nod to the team’s history. The Grizzlies aim to continue their undefeated streak as they face an upcoming opponent.
Penn State is also embracing the classic theme, revealing a retro look that matches the team’s navy blue but sports a distinct white collar. A central image of a Nittany Lion adds a unique touch, aiming to boost team morale after recent difficulties.
Wisconsin, on a quest for their first Big Ten win, has adopted their historical ‘motion W’ motif. Their throwback jerseys will feature a block ‘W’ logo, marking a significant change from their current attire as the Badgers hope for a win on Saturday.
Texas A&M plans to channel the spirit of its 1975 co-champions. Their jerseys will be maroon adorned with white details, continuing the tradition of clean and simple designs. The jerseys include a special nod with ‘GIG ‘EM’ on the collar, enhancing the nostalgic appeal.
In contrast, SMU will step onto the field in an all-black ensemble complemented by striking blue accents. This fresh take aims to energize their fans ahead of their match.
UCF will introduce a subtle change in their classic white road look by incorporating gold pants, aligning with their gold helmet logo and black outlined numbers.
Meanwhile, Texas Tech will celebrate its 100th anniversary with uniforms featuring a gold ‘100-year’ label and vintage design aspects, melding history with contemporary elements.
