Cincinnati Bears Down on Baylor, Wins 41-20
CINCINNATI, Ohio — The Cincinnati Bearcats defeated the Baylor Bears 41-20 on Saturday, October 25, 2025, improving their record to 7-1 and keeping their Big 12 title hopes alive with a perfect 5-0 conference standing. Quarterback Brendan Sorsby was crucial in the victory, throwing two touchdown passes and adding another rushing touchdown.
Cincinnati quickly took control, jumping to a 24-0 lead by the end of the first half. The scoring started with a 1-yard touchdown run by Tawee Walker after an impressive 81-yard drive. Evan Pryor followed with a 5-yard scoring run, and Sorsby connected with his receiver for a 6-yard touchdown pass, capping off an explosive first half.
Despite falling behind, Baylor fought back. Quarterback Sawyer Robertson threw two touchdowns and scored another on the ground, shrinking the gap to 27-20 in the fourth quarter. However, Baylor coach Dave Aranda lamented his team’s missed opportunities.
<p“We're in position to get a stop and get the ball back to our offense to go win the game and just couldn’t do it,” Aranda said. “It’s just so frustrating,” he added after the game.
The Bearcats responded strongly. Sorsby led a 75-yard drive, capped by his 23-yard rushing touchdown, sealing the game with just over six minutes left.
On the ground, Cincinnati amassed 265 rushing yards while successfully containing Baylor’s offense. The Bearcats’ defense held Robertson, the nation’s leading passer, to a mere 137 yards, marking his lowest performance of the season.
<p“I'm really proud of our defense,” Satterfield said. “They put together a game plan to contain the nation's top passing offense, and what they did tonight was incredible.”
The win allows Cincinnati to remain in a tie for first place with BYU in the Big 12, setting up a crucial matchup against BYU on November 22. Baylor will look to rebound against UCF next Saturday.
