PARIS, France — Jannik Sinner has a chance to reclaim the World No. 1 ranking at the 2025 Rolex Paris Masters this week. The tournament runs from October 27 to November 2 at La Défense Arena.

Sinner’s quest for the top spot intensified on Tuesday following his rival Carlos Alcaraz’s stunning loss in the early rounds. Alcaraz fell to Cameron Norrie, breaking his strong winning streak of 17 matches in Masters 1000 events.

If Sinner wins the Paris title, he is guaranteed to take back the No. 1 ranking. His impressive performance in recent tournaments, including a title win in Vienna last Sunday, has kept him in contention. Sinner’s previous reign as World No. 1, lasting 65 weeks, ended after his defeat to Alcaraz at the US Open.

Winning his first Paris Masters title would not only boost Sinner’s ranking, but he would also take to within 1,050 points of Alcaraz in the ATP Live Race to Turin. This year’s final in Turin could see a fierce battle if Sinner is able to defend his title there after potentially winning in Paris.

Sinner’s upcoming match on Wednesday against Belgium’s David Goffin will be critical in this ongoing competition for the top ranking.
