Anaheim Ducks Día De Muertos Celebration

Anaheim, California – The Anaheim Ducks (6-3-1) will host the New Jersey Devils (9-3-0) tonight at Honda Center, aiming for their third consecutive victory. The game is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. PT and will be broadcasted on Victory+ and KCOP-13.

This evening’s match will feature a special Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebration, honoring Hispanic Heritage Month with various activities throughout the night. The first 5,000 fans will receive a free Día de Muertos-inspired poncho, provided by HERDEZ® Salsa. Additionally, the Ducks Foundation will launch a themed auction benefiting Latino Health Access, which will open at noon PT and close on Monday, Nov. 3.

The Ducks enter this matchup fresh off a 5-2 victory against the Detroit Red Wings, marking their fourth win in the last five games. Star player Leo Carlsson matched his career-best with four points during the game, while teammate Troy Terry recorded two goals, one of which was shorthanded. “He’s been a ‘wow’ factor,” said Ducks head coach Joel Quenneville, speaking about Carlsson’s impact on the ice.

The Devils come to Anaheim after a strong 4-1 win over the Los Angeles Kings. New Jersey, which previously lost two games in a row, was led by goals from Nico Hischier, Dawson Mercer, and Brian Halonen, who scored his first career goal. Goaltender Jacob Markstrom made 43 saves, achieving his career-high with the Devils.

Getting an early lead will be crucial for the Ducks. According to NHL.com, the Devils are undefeated (6-0-0) when they score the first goal of the game. Fans can enjoy a variety of celebrations, including live performances by Mariachi Nuevo Jalisciense and Ballet Folklórico, as well as interactive art displays by local youth.

In recognition of the evening’s themes, more than 2,000 students from the Anaheim School District have created artwork that will be displayed throughout the venue. The Ducks aim to foster community engagement and cultural appreciation through their events and this auction supporting Latino Health Access.

Tickets for the game are still available, providing fans the chance to take part in this festive celebration.
