Tuscaloosa, AL — Germie Bernard, a wide receiver for the Alabama Crimson Tide, is drawing attention ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft. The senior is recognized for his versatility and playmaking skills, which have helped him secure a position among the top receiver prospects this season.

Standing 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighing 204 pounds, Bernard ranks No. 67 on several draft boards, including the Draft Network’s Top 100. After transferring from the University of Washington to Alabama in 2024, he quickly became a dependable target for quarterback Ty Simpson, contributing significantly to the team’s success.

This season, Bernard has made 33 catches for 472 yards and five touchdowns in just seven games, averaging nearly seven yards after the catch per reception. He has showcased strong route-running abilities and the intelligence to find openings in defenses, particularly against zone coverage. Bernard’s knack for catching passes in traffic underlines his reliability as a target for Simpson.

Despite lacking elite top-end speed, many scouts believe Bernard’s strong hands and quick mental processing make him a valuable asset. His capacity to line up in different receiver positions and even in the backfield allows Alabama to exploit mismatches against defenders. In a recent game against South Carolina, Bernard demonstrated his versatility by catching five passes for 54 yards and rushing for an additional 23 yards on three carries.

“He’s a clutch chain-mover and contested converter,” said a scouting analyst. “His understanding of defensive structures allows him to create separation and find soft spots in zone coverage, making him an ideal fit for an NFL offense.”

While Bernard’s draft projection suggests he might not be a first-round pick, he is considered a strong candidate for the second or third round, with a current average draft position reflecting this. His performance in the upcoming games, including a match against LSU, will be crucial in determining his final draft positioning.

As the NFL Draft approaches, Bernard’s consistent performances have solidified his standing as a reliable and versatile receiver, showcasing the potential to contribute immediately at the professional level.
