Browns Prepare for Must-Win Match Against Struggling Jets
CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Cleveland Browns are gearing up for a crucial game against the New York Jets this Sunday. With a record of 1-7, the Jets have struggled significantly, allowing nearly 28 points per game and ranking No. 26 against the run.
Browns players and coaches view this matchup as a “no excuse” game, according to sources within the organization. The Jets have been trying to decide between Justin Fields and 36-year-old Tyrod Taylor for the starting quarterback role, adding to their challenges.
Fields has particularly struggled this season, having three games where he failed to surpass 50 passing yards. Such statistics have left fans questioning the Jet’s offensive capabilities as they prepare to host the Browns.
“This is a game we should win,” a Browns spokesperson remarked. “Games against teams with records like theirs can’t be taken lightly. We have to put in the work.”
Meanwhile, Browns coach Kevin Stefanski confirmed that quarterback Tommy Rees will have the final say in play calling moving forward. He emphasized the importance of Rees feeling confident in the playbook provided for the game.
In another update, it’s anticipated that Deshaun Watson’s practice window may open soon, although it is unlikely to happen this week. Watson has been on the reserve/physically unable to perform list after missing the first four games of the season.
Myles Garrett recently expressed no regrets about his emotional reaction after being pulled from the game against the Patriots. He had already tallied five sacks during that game and wanted to contribute until the end.
“I wanted to finish strong,” Garrett said. “I’m passionate about winning and putting everything on the field.”
