Celtics Magic Game Highlights

Orlando, Florida — An impressive second-half performance from Anfernee Simons was not enough to lift the Boston Celtics past the Orlando Magic Friday, as the Celtics fell 116-110.

Simons, who played just two minutes in the first half, ignited in the fourth quarter, scoring 11 points. His resurgence came after a tough start, which saw him pulled immediately after allowing a fast-break dunk. Simons reflected on his performance, stating, “You just gotta relax and understand the situation you’re put in. Going out there and play the game how you know how to play and be confident in those situations.”

In total, Simons finished the game with 11 points, two rebounds, and two assists in 18 minutes of play. The Celtics have emphasized the need for Simons to be more aggressive as he adapts to his new team configuration. His ability to score, especially when engaging offensively, is critical for the Celtics.

Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla praised Simons’ improvement in the second half, saying, “I thought he responded pretty well. He was more aggressive in the second half. There was no message there. He just has an understanding of what we have to do on both ends of the floor.”

The Celtics are looking to bounce back after a slow start to the season, currently sitting at 4-6. They will face the Magic again on Sunday at 6 p.m., hoping to avenge their recent loss. Jayson Tatum is still on the injury report, while other players are stepping up in his absence.

The Magic shot nearly 50% from three-point range, effectively pulling away in the final moments of the match. The Celtics, while competitive in many games, have struggled to close out matches, holding a 1-4 record in clutch situations this season.
