Uc Berkeley Turning Point Usa Event Clash

BERKELEY, California — A violent clash broke out Monday afternoon near the University of California, Berkeley, just hours before a Turning Point USA (TPUSA) event featuring Dr. Frank Turek and comedian Rob Schneider.

The confrontation occurred around 4:30 PM PDT, escalating just ahead of the event that marks the end of the “This Is The Turning Point” tour. This event is particularly notable, occurring two months after TPUSA’s founder, Charlie Kirk, was assassinated during a campus event in Utah on September 10.

During the altercation, two men were observed fighting, with one suffering visible injuries, including blood streaming from his face. Footage taken at the scene showed a group of demonstrators gathered around the incident, many wearing keffiyehs and holding signs promoting left-wing messages.

Law enforcement had difficulty controlling the situation. Officers were seen donning shield masks and arming themselves with batons. The extent of injuries among the participants remains unclear at this time.

According to the Berkeley Police Department, at least two arrests were made by 6 PM local time. The police spokesperson stated, “I do not have the specific details of what the arrests were for,” but confirmed that one arrest was related to battery.

A spokesperson from UC Berkeley clarified that the fight did not occur on campus grounds, although further details were not provided. Earlier, Dr. Frank Turek expressed his anticipation for the Berkeley event to Fox News Digital. He noted that he specifically wanted to attend this event because of its progressive environment and his aim to present evidence for his Christian beliefs.

This incident reflects the heightened tensions surrounding political events on college campuses and raises concerns over public safety.
