Elias Lindholm Boston Bruins Injury News

Boston, MA – The Boston Bruins announced today that forward Elias Lindholm has been placed on injured reserve due to a lower-body injury sustained on October 30. In a corresponding move, the team recalled forward Alex Steeves from their AHL affiliate, the Providence Bruins.

Lindholm, 30, has played in 13 games this season, recording four goals and five assists for a total of nine points. The 6-foot-1 forward has a strong career record, amassing 239 goals and 374 assists over 913 NHL games. He is known for his faceoff ability, achieving a 57.5% winning percentage this season.

The injury occurred during a game against the Buffalo Sabres, where Lindholm collided with Sabres forward Jordan Greenway. He remained on the ice until assisted by teammates. Coach Marco Sturm indicated that Lindholm is expected to miss several weeks while he recovers.

Despite Lindholm’s absence, the Bruins have won three consecutive games. The team has been utilizing 23-year-old forward to fill the void left by Lindholm, positioning him as the center of the first line alongside his teammates.

Steeves, 25, has been performing well with the Providence Bruins this season, registering three goals and five assists for eight points in just nine games. Last season, he was a standout player for the Toronto Marlies, leading his team with 36 goals and 62 points in 59 games.

Steeves signed a one-year contract with the Bruins this summer and cleared waivers prior to the season. His experience includes 14 NHL games, predominantly with the Maple Leafs, where he recorded three points. The Bedford, New Hampshire native now aims to make an impact in his first NHL opportunity with Boston.

As the Bruins prepare for an important matchup against the Toronto Maple Leafs, Steeves will seek to leverage this chance to prove himself on the NHL stage.
