Candace Cameron Bure Marriage Challenges

LOS ANGELES, CA — Candace Cameron Bure candidly discussed the challenges in her nearly 30-year marriage to former NHL player Valeri Bure in an interview with Us Weekly. The 49-year-old actress shared her experiences with what she called the “valleys of real struggle” during their relationship.

“There are days I wrestle with brokenness. I have experienced that,” Cameron Bure said in the interview published on November 4, while promoting her new book, “Rise and Renew: A 30-Day Devotional to Heal a Hurting Heart.” This candid admission comes after she described a particularly difficult phase in their marriage during the pandemic.

The couple, who wed in 1996, have faced numerous ups and downs, often struggling to balance work and family life. “I think that there’s always been a struggle with work and family life balance. I think so many women experience that,” she explained. Despite these challenges, she emphasized the strength of their relationship.

<p“There were times of deep brokenness that I felt,” she reflected. However, Cameron Bure credits her faith in God for helping her and Valeri mend their relationship. “But God is in the restoration business … [God] loves to restore and make all things new, and he certainly has,” she shared.

A pivotal moment for the Bures came when their son Lev, 25, offered marital advice during a tough time in 2020. He preached a lengthy sermon on marriage to his parents, reminding them of their values and commitment to each other.

<p“He said, ‘I know I haven’t been married. I’m just a young kid. … But I don’t need to be married to know what the word of God says,’” she recalled. This conversation helped the couple realize their commitment to each other was still strong. “I’m more in love with my husband today than when we met. He is truly my best friend,” Cameron Bure stated.

As they enter a new season of life with two of their three grown children now married, she expressed contentment. “We’re in this great season of life,” she added, looking forward to the future.
