Karl-Anthony Towns Receives Sentimental Birthday Gift From Jordyn Woods
New York, NY – Karl-Anthony Towns, the New York Knicks center, celebrated his 30th birthday on Saturday with a heartfelt surprise from his girlfriend, Jordyn Woods. She gifted him a black 1990s Isuzu Trooper, a vehicle that holds significant sentimental value as it was the same model his late mother, Jacqueline Cruz-Towns, drove during his childhood.
Woods revealed in an Instagram post that they once had a conversation about cars, and Towns expressed his fond memories of his mother’s Isuzu Trooper. He stated, ‘I wouldn’t pick anything crazy. I just really loved my mom’s car.’ Determined to surprise him, Woods set out to find and restore the vehicle.
Woods went to great lengths to acquire the SUV, managing to ship it across the country just in time for Towns’ birthday. The Isuzu Trooper was discontinued in 2002, with its production replaced by the Isuzu Ascender and Axiom.
Upon receiving the gift, Towns was overjoyed, saying, ‘This is the best thing ever’ as he drove the restored vehicle. This special moment also serves as a poignant reminder of Towns’ mother, who passed away in April 2020 due to complications from coronavirus at the age of 58.
Towns and Woods began dating in May 2020 and publicly announced their relationship on social media in September of the same year. As a prominent player in the NBA, Towns is currently averaging 21.8 points, 12.5 rebounds, and 3.3 assists in the ongoing season.
