Mississippi State Basketball Game

STARKVILLE, Mississippi – Mississippi State men’s basketball looks to bounce back as they host New Orleans on Monday, November 24 at 6:30 p.m. at Humphrey Coliseum. The Bulldogs carry a record of 2-3 after two recent losses at the Hall of Fame Classic in Kansas City, Missouri.

In their last game, Mississippi State fell to New Mexico 80-78 despite a strong performance from Josh Hubbard, who scored 29 points. Coach Chris Jans expressed the need for his team to improve their defensive intensity and rebounding, highlighting the need to limit turnovers.

On the other hand, the Privateers come into this game with a 2-3 record but are currently led by Coleton Benson and Jakevion Buckley, who have been impressive scorers this season. Mississippi State has historically performed well against teams from the Southland Conference, sporting a 60-5 all-time record against these programs.

Jans noted the importance of this home game for building momentum heading into the tougher SEC competition. The Bulldogs have won their last ten non-conference home games and are confident in their ability to turn the season around.

“This is a team we need to beat to regain confidence,” said Coach Jans. “We need to take care of business at home, especially before upcoming SEC matchups. A win here is crucial for our postseason hopes.”

Tickets for the game are available through Mississippi State’s Athletic Ticket Office. Fans are encouraged to support the Bulldogs during this critical matchup.
