Portland Trail Blazers San Antonio Spurs Game

PORTLAND, OREGON — The Portland Trail Blazers (8-10) will take on the San Antonio Spurs (11-5) on Wednesday at 7 p.m. PST at the Moda Center. This matchup is pivotal as the Blazers can secure a spot in the knockout round of the NBA Cup with a victory over the Spurs.

Both teams are vying for top position in West Group C, which also includes the Denver Nuggets, Houston Rockets, and Golden State Warriors. Currently, the Blazers and Nuggets are tied for first place with 2-1 records. However, Portland holds the tiebreaker after defeating Denver in their last meeting on October 31.

San Antonio can also advance to the next round, but needs to win against the Blazers on Wednesday and subsequently against the Nuggets on Friday. The Spurs have shown resilience, winning three of their last four games despite missing stars Victor Wembanyama, Stephon Castle, and Dylan Harper due to injuries.

The Blazers are coming off a strong performance, having recently defeated the Milwaukee Bucks 115-103. Jerami Grant led the way with a season-high 35 points, while Donovan Clingan contributed significantly with 14 points, 11 rebounds, and four assists. Clingan has been a standout player recently, recording double-doubles in four of his last six games.

In terms of injuries, Portland’s Shaedon Sharpe (right calf strain) is listed as questionable, while Scoot Henderson (left hamstring), Damian Lillard (left Achilles tendon), and several others remain out. On the Spurs side, Harper is questionable, with Wembanyama, Castle, and Jordan McLaughlin also sidelined.

The game will be broadcast live on KUNP, with a streaming option available for the Blazers’ games. Fans can listen to the matchup on Rip City Radio (KPOJ 620 AM).
