Rookie Beckett Sennecke Shines in Early NHL Season
Dallas, Texas — Beckett Sennecke, the 19-year-old rookie for the Anaheim Ducks, continues to impress in his first NHL season. While navigating the demanding pace of professional hockey, he has become a standout performer on the ice and is making strides off it.
During a recent game against the Dallas Stars, Sennecke demonstrated his skill by not only scoring goals but also setting up teammates. With a focus on consistency, he is currently second in rookie scoring and tied for first in goals among newcomers.
Sennecke may be the youngest player on his team, yet he has formed strong connections with fellow teammates. He shares a room with Leo Carlsson on road trips, where the duo enjoys typical teenage conversations rather than just discussing hockey. “It’s good, can’t complain,” Sennecke said. “He doesn’t snore.”
Head coach Joel Quenneville noted Sennecke’s impressive performance, stating, “He did a lot of good things out there today. I think he had the puck a lot.” Despite some rookie challenges, like a miscalculated move leading to a goal against, Sennecke’s ability to bounce back has impressed both fans and teammates.
Teammate Chris Kreider praised Sennecke after a game, emphasizing his maturity and impact, saying, “Apologized to the group, and then went out and got one for us.”
As he adapts to the demands of traveling and the NHL schedule, Sennecke is still finding ways to develop, watching veteran players to learn what works best in a compact schedule. “You can kind of watch, especially what the older more experienced guys do out there,” he said.
Despite undergoing a modified load management plan, Sennecke continues to contribute significantly, thrilling fans and showcasing his talent, like when he assisted on a game-winning goal in a recent match. His journey is just beginning, and with continued support from teammates and coaches, the future looks bright for the Anaheim Ducks rookie.
