Pakistan Vs Sri Lanka Cricket Tri Series

RAWALPINDI, Pakistan — Pakistan’s cricket team triumphed over Sri Lanka by seven wickets in the third match of the T20 Tri-Series on November 22, 2025, at Rawalpindi Stadium. The win marks Pakistan’s second victory in the series, putting them at the top of the table.

Sri Lanka set a target of 129 runs, finishing their innings at 128 for 7 after 20 overs. Kusal Mendis contributed significantly for Sri Lanka with 41 runs, but his team’s performance fell short against a strong Pakistani bowling attack led by Mohammad Nawaz, who took three wickets for just 16 runs.

In reply, Pakistan chased down the target in 15.3 overs, scoring 131 for 3. Sahibzada Farhan was the star for Pakistan, notching up an impressive 80 runs off 45 balls. He struck five sixes and five fours, leading the inning with confidence. His partnership with Babar Azam set the pace for the chase, as they added 69 runs together.

“We planned to be aggressive right from the start. Farhan’s innings was crucial in guiding us to a comfortable win,” said Babar Azam after the match.

Sri Lanka struggled in their innings, with Dasun Shanaka and Liyanage momentarily holding the fort but failing to build a strong total. Nawaz’s tight bowling kept the pressure on, and Sri Lanka could only muster two boundaries during the powerplay.

Sri Lanka’s Kamindu Mendis showcased some promise with a quick start but fell victim to a slower ball from Faheem Ashraf. Their batting woes continued as they lost wickets at regular intervals, unable to recover from Nawaz’s spell.

With this win, Pakistan solidifies its place at the top of the tri-series standings, while Sri Lanka remains winless after two matches. Sri Lanka has already faced significant setbacks, having suffered heavy defeats in their previous encounters.

Looking forward, both teams will aim to improve their performances in the upcoming matches. As the tournament progresses, every game will be crucial for the teams vying for a place in the finals.
