ATHENS, Ga. — Five-star quarterback Jared Curtis is considering a commitment flip from the University of Georgia to Vanderbilt just days ahead of the early signing period.

Curtis, a highly touted prospect in the 2026 class, confirmed through 247Sports that Vanderbilt has been in pursuit of him for some time. The Commodores previously hosted Curtis for a game against Missouri this season, while he recently attended the Georgia-Texas match.

Ranked as the No. 1 recruit in the 2026 recruiting cycle and the top quarterback in Tennessee, Curtis has been committed to Georgia since May. At 6-foot-4 and 225 pounds, he is known for his physical running ability and impressive size. While he initially chose Georgia over Oregon, Vanderbilt has emerged as a strong competitor in the recruitment of this talented signal-caller.

If Curtis were to decommit from Georgia, it could lead the Bulldogs to scramble for another quarterback in the class of 2026. Despite this potential setback, Georgia has several options in their current quarterback room, including returning players like Gunner Stockton.

It’s worth noting that Georgia’s commitment list currently ranks among the best in the nation, holding the third position in recruiting class standings with 30 commitments. Conversely, Vanderbilt sits at No. 47 with 20 commitments.

The decision from Curtis, who plays for Nashville Christian High School, could be pivotal for both Georgia and Vanderbilt as they prepare for the signing period beginning December 3.
