NIEDŹWIEDŹ, Poland – The tragic death of 11-year-old actor Nikodem Marecki has sent shockwaves across the nation. The young star, known for his roles in films such as “Biała odwaga” and “Szpital św. Anny,” was killed in an accident on November 27 in Szczepanowice.

Details have emerged revealing that Marecki was struck by a delivery van after he reportedly ran onto the road, emerging suddenly from behind a school bus. The van’s driver had no time to react and was confirmed to be sober and adhering to speed limits.

The accident happened while Marecki was trying to cross from his bus stop. Emergency services, including a helicopter, were dispatched to the scene, but sadly, he succumbed to severe injuries at the University Children’s Hospital in Krakow.

The preliminary autopsy indicated that he died from a liver rupture. Prosecutor Oliwia Bożek-Michalec confirmed that investigations are ongoing, with focus on witness statements and traffic conditions at the time of the incident.

The community mourns as his funeral is set for December 3. During a heartfelt mass, a local priest shared the boy’s poignant last words, overheard by his mother: “Matko Boska,” reflecting the family’s faith amid their grief.

This loss has resonated deeply within the film industry and the local community, with many expressing their condolences and remembering the young talent’s promise.
