De’Aaron Fox and Franz Wagner Named NBA Players of the Week for Week 4
Sacramento Kings guard De'Aaron Fox and Orlando Magic forward Franz Wagner have been honored as the NBA Players of the Week for Week 4 of the 2024-25 NBA season. Fox was named the Western Conference Player of the Week, while Wagner took the award for the Eastern Conference.
Franz Wagner’s recent performance has been particularly impressive. He has averaged a career-high 22.2 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game this season, shooting 46.8% from the field and 34.8% from three-point range. In the nine games that Paolo Banchero has missed, Wagner has elevated his game even further, averaging 24.7 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 5.6 assists per game.
Wagner’s consistent high-level play has led the Orlando Magic to an 8-6 record and the number three seed in the Eastern Conference. He has also put together seven consecutive 20+ point games, tying the longest such streak of his NBA career. His teammates and coaches have praised his performance, with Jalen Suggs expressing his pride and admiration for Wagner’s growth and contributions to the team.
Wagner’s performance has not only silenced his doubters but also positioned him for a potential first All-Star appearance in February. He continues to be a key factor in the Magic’s success, particularly as the team embarks on a three-game road trip out West.
