Aaron Judge Falls Short of Historic Four-Homer Game Against Brewers

NEW YORK, NY — In an exhilarating showdown on Saturday, New York Yankees right fielder Aaron Judge came within one swing of making baseball history during the eighth inning against the Milwaukee Brewers. Judge aimed to become only the 19th player ever to smash four home runs in a single game, a feat last achieved by Yankees legend Lou Gehrig in 1932.
As Judge stepped to the plate, he faced Brewers pitcher Jake Bauers, who, astonishingly, is normally a position player. In a surprising twist, Bauers managed to complicate matters for Judge, throwing a slow 55 mph curveball that resulted in a flyout. The moment elicited laughter from Judge as he returned to the dugout.
Despite the missed opportunity, Judge had an impressive outing, finishing the game with four hits, including three home runs, and contributing eight RBIs. His performance showcased his prowess as one of the game’s top hitters.
“It was a fun atmosphere today,” Judge said. “Every time you step up there, you want to do something special.”
While Judge stole the spotlight with his hitting prowess, Bauers also had a standout performance. The versatile player managed to silence critics defensively, pitching a scoreless inning with just one walk. In his regular role as a first baseman, Bauers contributed to the offense with an RBI double.
“Jake showed that he can do it all,” Yankees manager Aaron Boone remarked. “That was a gutsy performance on the mound.”
Ultimately, the Yankees triumphed over the Brewers with a decisive 20–9 victory, a game that included a significant amount of offensive fireworks from both sides.
