Aaron Wan Bissaka Set To Join West Ham As Manchester United Eyes New Signings

Aaron Wan-Bissaka is on the verge of moving to West Ham as he nears the end of his five-year stint at Manchester United. Talks between the clubs have been progressing well, and United is expected to pursue a deal for Bayern Munich‘s Noussair Mazraoui once Wan-Bissaka is sold.

With just one year left on his contract at Old Trafford, Wan-Bissaka is likely to cost around £17m. Initially, it seemed that personal terms could be a hurdle due to his salary, but confidence is growing that he will make the switch.

Since arriving from Crystal Palace for £50m in 2019, the defender has scored two goals in 190 appearances for United. Morocco international Mazraoui, who used to play under United’s manager Erik ten Hag at Ajax, is also in the final year of his contract with Bayern and could play at left-back as an added option for the team.

Wan-Bissaka’s potential transfer marks West Ham’s seventh summer signing as they look to revamp their squad under new manager Julen Lopetegui. They have already brought in players like Max Kilman, Niclas Fullkrug, Crysencio Summerville, and Luis Guilherme, spending over £100m in the process.

In addition to Wan-Bissaka’s departure, Manchester United plans to sell three more notable players to clear space and help fund additional signings. Other names reportedly on the chopping block include Victor Lindelof, Casemiro, and Scott McTominay.

While Lindelof is nearing the end of his contract and doesn’t have strong generating potential, Casemiro’s hefty wage could help relieve some financial burden for United. In contrast, McTominay’s sale would be more profitable due to his status as a homegrown player.

Fulham has already made two bids for McTominay, the latest being around £23m, but they were rebuffed by United’s £30m asking price. Tottenham has also shown interest after missing out on Conor Gallagher.

The next few weeks promise to be busy at Old Trafford, with United looking to make several transfers, including the addition of Noussair Mazraoui, Matthijs de Ligt, and potentially a central midfielder. They are also eyeing free agent Mario Hermoso for added defensive depth as Leny Yoro is expected to miss significant time due to injury.
