Carolina Panthers Adam Thielen Nfl Contract

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Carolina Panthers and veteran wide receiver Adam Thielen have finalized terms on a revised contract, allowing the 34-year-old to return for his 12th NFL season. Sources, including ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, reported the development as Thielen looks to continue his career following a promising performance in his first season with the Panthers.

Thielen initially signed a three-year, $25 million deal with the Panthers in March 2023, after spending nine seasons with the Minnesota Vikings. During 2023, he had a remarkable resurgence, recording 103 receptions for 1,014 yards and three touchdowns, appearing in all 17 games. However, the following season proved more challenging as he was limited to just 10 games due to a hamstring injury sustained in Week 3 against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Despite the setback, Thielen demonstrated resilience. After returning to the field in Week 12, he managed to exceed 50 receiving yards in five of the last seven games. At the end of the 2024 season, after the Panthers finished with a 5-12 record, there was speculation about Thielen’s future in football.

In an interview at an LPGA golf tournament in late January, Thielen revealed he initially considered the possibility that he had played his last game. “I had said after the season, like I just need two weeks to really think about it,” Thielen stated. “Once I made that decision, I’m like, I’m going to do one more year. Then that’s my mindset, and here we go.”

This confirmation of his return comes as a significant boost for the Panthers, especially in support of young quarterback Bryce Young. Thielen has accumulated 8,311 career receiving yards and 64 touchdowns, providing valuable experience that could help Young develop his skills on the field.

The Panthers are also reinforcing their roster, having recently signed running back Rico Dowdle from the Dallas Cowboys with a one-year deal worth up to $6.5 million. As the Panthers gear up for the 2025 season, Thielen’s leadership will be pivotal in their offensive strategy.
