Adele Overcome with Emotion as She Embraces Celine Dion at Las Vegas Residency
Adele‘s latest Las Vegas residency show on Saturday, October 26, turned into an emotional and memorable moment when she spotted Celine Dion in the audience. The British singer, known for hits like “Rolling in the Deep” and “When We Were Young,” was performing at Caesars Palace‘s Colosseum Theater when she noticed the Canadian music icon in attendance.
As Adele sang “When We Were Young,” she walked over to Celine Dion, who was seated in a box to the side of the stage. The two music legends shared a heartfelt and tearful embrace, with Adele visibly overcome with emotion. The moment was captured in videos posted on social media, showing the pair holding each other’s faces and exchanging words before Celine Dion kissed Adele’s hand.
The emotional encounter was not just a brief moment; it was a significant exchange between two musical icons. After the hug, Celine Dion was seen dabbing her tears with a handkerchief, comforted by her two sons, Nelson and Eddy Angélil. Adele, still tearful, continued her performance and later gave a shoutout to the audience, saying, “Give it up to Ms. Céline Dion!”.
This meeting marked a full circle moment for the pair, as Adele had previously visited Celine Dion backstage during her ‘Power of Love’ residency at the same theater in January 2018. Adele has long been a huge fan of Celine Dion, even revealing that one of her proudest possessions is a framed piece of Dion’s gum, a gift facilitated by James Corden.
Adele’s Las Vegas residency is set to conclude in November, after which she plans to take a long break from music. During a concert in Munich in September, Adele told fans that she would not see them for an “incredibly long time” after her residency ends.
