The news comes after Thiero recently opted to remain in the draft, forgoing his final year at the University of Arkansas. He performed notably at the NBA Combine, measuring 6 feet 6.25 inches and weighing 218.4 pounds, with a remarkable 7-foot wingspan and an 8-foot-8.5 standing reach.

During his breakout junior season at Arkansas, Thiero averaged 15.1 points and 5.8 rebounds per game. His collegiate career includes stints with the Kentucky Wildcats under head coach John Calipari, where he played as a sophomore. In his year with the Wildcats, Thiero appeared in 25 games, averaging 7.2 points and nearly five rebounds.

Thiero’s performance has drawn attention for his athleticism and potential as a professional player. He led Kentucky’s rebounding efforts in eight games and scored over ten points in five matchups, including a high of 16 points against Kansas. He completed his time in college with over 600 points and more than 300 rebounds.
