Over 90 Air India Express flights were canceled since Tuesday night after a significant number of cabin crew members went on a “mass sick leave,” causing disruptions for passengers.

The crew members, comprising about 300 senior cabin crew, reported sick at the last minute, leading to flight delays and cancellations.

The management of Air India Express, owned by Tata Group, is actively trying to contact the crew members who are protesting against the new working conditions at the airline.

Passengers expressed their frustration on social media after being informed of the flight cancellations at the last minute without prior notice.

Air India Express reassured affected passengers of full refunds or rescheduling options for their inconvenience caused by the sudden flight cancellations.

Meanwhile, Vistara, another airline under the Tata Group, had previously faced similar pilot woes and flight cancellations due to discontentment over new contractual terms.

The crew members at AIX Connect, formerly AirAsia India, have raised concerns about unequal treatment post the merger with Tata Group, leading to dissatisfaction among the staff.
