Alabama Vs South Carolina Basketball Game 2025

Alabama‘s basketball team claimed its first SEC road victory of the season with an 88-68 win over South Carolina on Wednesday at Colonial Life Arena in Columbia, South Carolina. The Crimson Tide, ranked No. 5 nationally, improved to 13-2 overall and 2-0 in SEC play, while South Carolina fell to 10-5 and 0-2 in the conference.

Guard Mark Sears led the charge for Alabama, scoring a game-high 22 points, including 16 in the first half. The Crimson Tide’s offense was firing on all cylinders early, shooting 60% from the field and 55% from beyond the arc in the opening frame. Center Clifford Omoruyi contributed eight points in the first half, helping Alabama build a commanding 45-28 lead by halftime.

Despite cooling off in the second half, Alabama maintained control thanks to a strong performance from guard Aden Holloway, who scored 11 of his 13 points after the break. South Carolina struggled to close the gap, as Alabama’s defense held firm and its offense found enough rhythm to secure the win.

The game also marked a reunion for former Alabama forward Pringle, who transferred to South Carolina after two seasons with the Crimson Tide. Pringle finished with 13 points, six rebounds, and three turnovers in 25 minutes of play.

Alabama’s victory showcased its depth and versatility, with multiple players stepping up at key moments. The team’s ability to dominate both inside the paint and from the perimeter proved too much for South Carolina to handle.
