Albion Starlet Tom Fellows Receives First England U-20 Call-Up
Young talent Tom Fellows, a rising star from Albion, has achieved a major milestone in his football career by earning his first call-up to the England under-20 national team.
Fellows, a 20-year-old winger, has been making headlines this season with impressive performances, scoring four goals and providing four assists in 27 appearances for Albion.
Just a year ago, Fellows was playing a crucial role on loan at League Two club Crawley, facing tough opponents in a relegation battle.
His journey from the lower leagues to international recognition has been nothing short of remarkable.
Expressing his excitement, Fellows revealed, ‘I’m honoured to be called up, it’s something I didn’t really expect. If you look at the start of the season to now, the last thing I thought I’d get was an England under-20 call-up.’
The Albion youth graduate credits manager Carlos Corberan for his development, as the coach showed faith in Fellows and fellow youngster Caleb Taylor, integrating them into the first-team squad.
Corberan praised Fellows’ dedication and humility, highlighting the positive influence of experienced players like Kyle Bartley, Matt Phillips, and Erik Pieters on the aspiring talent.
Fellows is set to showcase his skills for England under-20s in upcoming matches against Poland and Czechia under the guidance of head coach Ben Futcher.
Joining the likes of Andi Weimann, Semi Ajayi, Mikey Johnston, and Callum Marshall, Fellows adds to the growing list of Albion players representing their national teams, reflecting the club’s commitment to nurturing top talent.
