Carlos Alcaraz Tennis Match Roland Garros

PARIS, France — Carlos Alcaraz is gearing up for a crucial fourth-round match against Ben Shelton at Roland Garros on Sunday. The defending champion enters the match aiming to extend his impressive 21-3 record at the tournament.

After a late night post-match on Friday, Alcaraz opted not to practice Saturday, focusing instead on recovery. He spent time in the hotel gym with his physio, Juanjo Moreno, and fitness coach, Alberto Lledo. The No. 2 seed in the PIF ATP Rankings believes that rest is key to maintaining his performance on the clay.

“I woke up late and took some time to recover from the previous match,” said Alcaraz, who battled for over three hours in a four-set victory. “We’re just trying to stay fresh for Sunday.”

On his day off, Alcaraz explored some of Paris‘s beautiful landmarks. He strolled through Pont Alexandre III, soaking in the city’s sights and seeking what his team calls ‘Vitamin N’ — the invigorating effects of nature. “It’s important for my wellbeing,” he noted.

This evening, Alcaraz plans to catch the Champions League final between Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan. He’s expressed support for PSG and has mingled with players throughout the tournament.

When asked about his upcoming opponent, Shelton, Alcaraz remarked, “He’s a very aggressive player. It’ll be interesting to see how we both play.” Currently, Alcaraz leads their head-to-head series 2-0.

As preparation and excitement build, Alcaraz looks to maintain momentum heading into the high-stakes match in pursuit of another title.
