Alex Bowman Jimmie Johnson Throwback Scheme Darlington Raceway

DARLINGTON, S.C. — Alex Bowman will pay tribute to Jimmie Johnson during the Goodyear 400 at Darlington Raceway on April 6 by sporting a throwback paint scheme that commemorates Johnson’s significant victory in the 2012 Southern 500.

This year marks the 200th win for Hendrick Motorsports in the NASCAR Cup Series, achieved by Johnson in the historic race. Leading 134 of the race’s 368 laps, Johnson secured a memorable victory that night, adding to his impressive record of seven NASCAR Cup Series championships and 83 career wins, including two Daytona 500 titles.

“Jimmie’s win in 2012 was a pivotal moment for our team,” Bowman said. “It’s an honor to pay homage to him and to all the achievements of Hendrick Motorsports.”

Since Johnson’s victory, Hendrick Motorsports has expanded its legacy by accumulating another 114 victories, solidifying its status as the winningest team in NASCAR history.

Bowman, who has been a full-time driver for Hendrick Motorsports since 2018, has contributed eight wins to the team’s impressive tally. Currently, he ranks third in the NASCAR Cup Series points standings, trailing only his teammates William Byron and Kyle Larson.

The Goodyear 400 is set to begin on Sunday, April 6, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. ET. Fans can watch the live coverage on FOX Sports 1 and listen on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
