Alex Iafallo Signs Three-Year Extension with Winnipeg Jets Worth $11 Million

WINNIPEG, Manitoba — Winnipeg Jets forward Alex Iafallo has officially signed a three-year contract extension worth $11 million, the team announced on Wednesday. The new contract will take effect at the start of the next season.
This season, Iafallo, 31, has had a notable performance, contributing 31 points, including 15 goals and 16 assists, in 81 games. His positive influence is highlighted by a plus-21 rating.
Originally signed as an undrafted free agent by the Jets in 2017 after his collegiate career at the University of Minnesota-Duluth, Iafallo has been a significant asset on the ice. Over his entire career spanning 583 games with Winnipeg and the Los Angeles Kings, he has amassed a total of 262 points, consisting of 111 goals and 151 assists.
Iafallo’s contract extension comes as the Jets celebrate a successful season, having secured their first Presidents’ Trophy. They finished the regular season with a remarkable record of 55-22-4. The team is set to conclude its regular season on Wednesday night against the Anaheim Ducks before advancing to a first-round playoff series.
“I’m excited to continue my career here in Winnipeg,” said Iafallo in a statement. “It’s been an honor to play for this organization, and I look forward to what’s ahead.”
During the past six games, Iafallo has produced two goals and three assists, showcasing his recent form. He has frequently played alongside Gabe Vilardi, who is currently recovering from an upper-body injury and is listed as day-to-day after resuming skating earlier this week.
The Jets have made significant strides this season, and the addition of Iafallo’s extended contract is seen as a key component in their strategy for long-term success.
