Twanisha Terry Sprinting At Track Event

LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Alexis Ohanian, co-founder of Reddit and husband of tennis legend Serena Williams, is making waves in women’s track and field with his groundbreaking initiative, Athlos. Launched in 2024, Athlos is the first all-women’s track and field event offering a $60,000 prize for each event winner, aiming to elevate the sport’s visibility and financial support.

Among the athletes benefiting from Ohanian’s vision is Twanisha “TeeTee” Terry, a rising star in the sprinting world. Terry, who began her track career at age 9, has since become one of the sport’s most promising talents. She competed in the Junior Olympics, set national records, and earned a gold medal in the relay team. Her personal best of 10.74 seconds in the 100 meters and her qualification for the 2024 Olympics with a 10.89-second run underscore her dedication and skill.

On January 19, 2025, Terry shared her plans to give back to the community, emphasizing the importance of youth support. “The community played a huge role in where I am today,” she wrote on Twitter. Ohanian responded with enthusiasm, commenting, “Tell me more!” signaling his interest in collaborating with Terry to bring her vision to life.

Terry’s journey is not just about athletic success. She graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in communications and has aspirations in sports broadcasting. Off the track, she enjoys crocheting, spending time with her French bulldog Prada, and exploring new opportunities.

Ohanian’s Athlos initiative has already made a significant impact, offering financial rewards and recognition to women athletes who have long been overlooked. With his support and Terry’s determination, the future of women’s track and field looks brighter than ever.
