Amanda Holden Charity Bike Ride

Amanda Holden, known for her role as a presenter on Heart Breakfast and as a judge on Britain's Got Talent, recently made a pit stop for breakfast at a classic Wiltshire pub during her extensive charity bike ride. Her ambitious journey, dubbed the ‘Big Ride to Work’, covers a distance of 250 miles, starting from her mother’s residence in Bude, Cornwall, and ending at the Heart studios in London’s Leicester Square.

Holden’s route took her through Wiltshire on Wednesday, October 9, where she paused at The Bell Inn located in Great Cheverell, near Devizes. She was welcomed by the staff and enjoyed a selection of soup and pastries. Kirsty Lucia, the manager of The Bell Inn, described the interaction with Holden as a “lovely” experience for the venue’s team.

“It was lovely, she and her team were there for about an hour and they were great with us,” Lucia stated. “Even though we were told there wouldn’t be photograph opportunities, Amanda came up to us and asked if we wanted a couple of photos. It was really nice, and she was so lovely. She seemed happy to be out of the saddle for an hour.”

This cycling challenge, which commenced on Monday, October 7, and concludes on Friday, October 11, aims to raise funds for Global’s Make Some Noise, the official charity of the radio station. This charity supports vital projects in local communities that address issues such as illness, mental health, and poverty.

Kyren Owen, a local resident, remarked on seeing Holden in the area: “It was quite exciting to see her in the county, and I even managed to get a quick picture as she left the pub to applause.” Across the week, Holden’s path has taken her through various counties, including Somerset, Berkshire, and Surrey, before reaching her destination.

Lucia added, “We knew about two weeks ago that she was planning to stop by more traditional pubs on her journey, so we were asked if she could have a morning stop for her breakfast. We weren’t going to charge them for charity; it’s a significant thing she’s doing.”
