Amber Alert Issued for Missing Teens in Idaho

MONTEVIEW, Idaho — An Amber Alert has been issued for two teenagers, Allen Larand Fischer, 13, and Rachelle Leray Fischer, 15, reported missing from their home in Monteview on June 22.
Elizabeth Roundy, their mother, reported that her children went to a local shop to use the internet while she attended a family Bible class. When she returned two hours later, they were gone. She suspects that their older siblings, affiliated with the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (FLDS), may have taken them.
“My children asked if they could go down to the shop to get on the internet… I allowed them to do it, and that wasn’t very smart of me. I let them go down there, and when I came back to get them, they were gone,” Roundy told EastIdahoNews.com.
Roundy, who left the FLDS Church in 2020, expressed concerns over a previous disappearance—her daughter Elintra Dee Fischer, 18, who went missing in January 2023. “I’ve seen their vehicles driving past my place… It’s my guess that they were lingering around in the neighborhood somewhere waiting for a chance to grab the children,” she said.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office believes the teens might be heading to Cache County, Utah, due to their religious beliefs. Initially, officials thought they may be in a gray Honda or Hyundai, but updates revealed no concrete evidence regarding the vehicle.
“Wherever they’re at, they’re in hiding. But I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re close by and waiting until things settle down,” Roundy added, noting how close she had been with her children in recent months. She emphasized her fears related to FLDS teachings about children.
Allen Fischer is described as 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing 135 pounds with blue eyes and sandy blonde hair, last seen in jeans and a blue shirt. Rachelle Fischer is 5 feet 5 inches tall, 135 pounds with blue eyes and brown hair, last seen wearing a green dress.
Authorities are asking anyone with information about the children to contact the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office at 208-745-9210. Roundy expressed gratitude for public support and noted her heartache over her children’s disappearance, calling it a terrifying situation.
