Angel Reese Teams Up with McDonald’s for Historic Signature Meal
CHICAGO, Ill. — Chicago Sky star Angel Reese is making history off the court with McDonald’s, launching the fast-food chain’s first signature meal created by a female athlete. The Angel Reese Special, a BBQ Bacon Quarter Pounder with Cheese featuring a new barbecue sauce, will debut nationwide on Feb. 10, 2025.
Reese, a standout WNBA rookie and former McDonald’s All-American, collaborated with the brand to craft a meal that reflects her personality and tastes. “The process was so much fun!” Reese told Andscape. “McDonald’s wanted the meal to feel personal to me, so we added bacon, because I love it, and then the Bold BBQ sauce, which matches who I am.”
The partnership marks a significant milestone for McDonald’s, which has previously partnered with male athletes for signature meals. Reese’s deal underscores her growing influence as a cultural icon and her commitment to elevating women’s sports. “McDonald’s just hits home for me because it’s been part of my life for as long as I can remember,” Reese said. “Being a McDonald’s All-American alum, it just felt like it was meant to be.”
Reese, who averaged 13.1 points per game in her rookie season, has become one of the most recognizable faces in women’s basketball. Her entrepreneurial ventures and brand partnerships have further solidified her status as a trailblazer. “I always want my partnerships to feel authentic to who I am,” Reese explained. “They see me for who I am — strong, confident and unapologetically myself.”
Beyond her on-court achievements, Reese is passionate about inspiring the next generation of athletes. “I want young girls to know that they can dream big and see those dreams come true,” she said. “I want my name to be synonymous with confidence, excellence and inspiring the next generation to realize their fullest potential.”
The Angel Reese Special will be available for a limited time at McDonald’s locations across the United States. The meal is expected to draw attention not only for its bold flavors but also for its cultural significance in the world of sports and business.
