Mike Trout Baseball Game

BOSTON — The Los Angeles Angels defeated the Boston Red Sox 7-6 in a tight game on Monday night, thanks to an impressive performance from Mike Trout. Trout recorded three hits, including a massive three-run homer, as the Angels jumped to an early lead.

The Angels struck first, with Zach Neto hitting a homer to lead off the game. They quickly built a 5-0 lead within the first inning, putting Red Sox starter Richard Fitts (0-3) on the defensive. Jo Adell joined the homer party in the first inning and later added another solo shot in the sixth, keeping pressure on Boston as they tried to rally.

Jarren Duran was a standout for the Red Sox, collecting three hits, including a double that helped ignite a four-run fifth inning. Ceddanne Rafaela added a homer in the eighth inning, narrowing the score to 7-6.

Ryan Zeferjahn (3-1) earned the win for the Angels after pitching a scoreless seventh inning with two strikeouts. Kenley Jansen closed the game, earning his 11th save after securing a line drive out from Romy Gonzalez at the warning track.

Boston fought back in the fifth, scoring four runs and loading the bases in the sixth, but Reid Detmers managed to stop them by getting Carlos Narváez on a slow chopper to third.

Trout, who recently returned from a month-long stint on the injured list due to a bone bruise on his left knee, has quickly found his rhythm, going 8 for 14 since his comeback.
