M11 Motorway Traffic Delay

Traffic on the M11 Southbound in England was severely disrupted on October 9, 2023, due to animals straying onto the roadway. The incident, which began around 7:20 a.m., necessitated the halting of all traffic between junction 8 A120 Thremhall Avenue at Bishop's Stortford to junction 7A A1025 at Harlow North. Affected drivers experienced lengthy delays as authorities worked to clear the road, resulting in all lanes being closed for approximately twenty minutes.

In addition to the disruption from animals, a separate incident occurred later in the morning. At around 8:10 a.m., a collision further exacerbated traffic issues on the M11 Southbound, particularly affecting the area from junction 6, where the M11 intersects with the M25, extending to junction 5 in Loughton. This crash resulted in two lanes being blocked, adding to the already significant travel delays.

The East of England Ambulance Service responded swiftly, deploying two ambulances and a rapid response vehicle to the scene of the crash in Loughton. “We were called at 8:10 a.m. with reports of a collision on the M11,” stated an ambulance service spokesperson. They confirmed that two individuals involved in the incident were transported to Whipps Cross Hospital for further treatment. As of now, the conditions of those individuals have not been disclosed.

Emergency services were contacted for further comments regarding both incidents. Travelers affected by the disruptions were advised to get in touch with the local news outlet, EssexLive, via email while ensuring personal safety.
