Anshul Kamboj Sold to Chennai Super Kings for INR 3.4 Crore in IPL 2025 Mega Auction
Anshul Kamboj, the promising right-arm medium-fast bowler from Haryana, has made significant strides in his cricketing career. Recently, he was sold to the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for INR 3.4 crore in the IPL 2025 mega auction.
Kamboj’s rise to prominence began with his first-class debut for Haryana against Tripura on February 17, 2022. He has since been recognized for his consistency and impressive performances. Notably, he took 17 wickets in 10 games at an economy rate of 3.58 in his T20 debut season and played a crucial role in Haryana’s maiden Vijay Hazare Trophy win in 2023.
Before joining CSK, Kamboj was set to feature for the Mumbai Indians in the 2024 season of the Indian Premier League. However, his recent performance in the Ranji Trophy, where he achieved a historic 10-wicket haul, caught the attention of IPL teams, leading to his acquisition by CSK in the 2025 mega auction.
The bidding for Kamboj started with the Delhi Capitals, but Chennai Super Kings ultimately secured his services for INR 3.4 crore, highlighting their confidence in his potential to contribute to the team’s success in the upcoming IPL season.
