Ansu Fati Shines with Brace in Monaco’s 5-2 Victory

MONACO, Monaco — Ansu Fati, the young forward on loan from Barcelona, made a significant impact for AS Monaco during their 4-2 victory over FC Metz in Ligue 1 on Sunday. Fati, who came off the bench, scored two goals, helping his team maintain their unbeaten start to the season.
The 22-year-old entered the match at the 67th minute and found the net just 36 seconds later, giving Monaco a 2-1 lead. He capitalized on a low ball into the penalty area, executing a precise touch to slot the ball home from close range.
Although Metz equalized with a penalty, Fati struck again in the 83rd minute to push Monaco ahead 3-2. This time, Krépin Diatta sent in a right-side cross that Fati expertly guided into the net with a header.
A late own goal from Metz and a stoppage-time goal by George Ilenikhena sealed the match at 5-2. Fati’s performance marked his third goal in two appearances since joining Monaco, indicating he is quickly getting comfortable with his new team.
“I’m happy to help the team with my goals,” Fati said after the match. “Next, we aim to keep this momentum going.”
