Arkansas Razorbacks Set All-Time Record with Four All-Americans

OMAHA, Neb. — Four Arkansas Razorbacks baseball players earned All-America honors from the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association on Wednesday. Shortstop Wehiwa Aloy, outfielder Charles Davalan, and designated hitter Kuhio Aloy were named second-team All-Americans, while left-handed pitcher Zach Root made the third team.
This year marks the most All-Americans in a single season for the Razorbacks, with the previous record being three in both 2019 and 2021.
Wehiwa Aloy, who also won the SEC Player of the Year award, led the group. He finished the season with a .348 batting average, hitting 20 home runs and 64 RBIs. Aloy is a finalist for the Golden Spikes Award and the Dick Howser Trophy, which recognizes the national player of the year.
His younger brother, Kuhio Aloy, contributed significantly as the designated hitter, hitting .330 with 13 home runs and 70 RBIs. He became only the second Razorback to be recognized as an All-American in this position.
Charles Davalan added to the team’s success, posting a batting average of .355 with 14 home runs and 59 RBIs. He recorded no errors in the field, showcasing his defensive skills. Meanwhile, Zach Root excelled as the team’s ace pitcher, finishing the season with a 3.59 ERA and striking out 119 batters.
