MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Armando Bacot continues his pursuit of an NBA career with the Memphis Hustle in the NBA G League, achieving a monumental feat last week. On March 3, 2025, Bacot recorded a franchise record 25 rebounds in a thrilling 115-109 comeback victory against the Santa Cruz Warriors.

In addition to his rebounding record, Bacot also scored 34 points, marking the first time in franchise history that a Memphis player has reached a 30-point, 20-rebound game. The Hustle overcame a 17-point deficit in the fourth quarter to secure the win.

“It was an incredible feeling to not only break the record but to help my team secure the win,” Bacot said. “We just kept pushing, and that’s what this team is about—never giving up.”

Bacot’s performance earned him recognition in the G League, where he was named Player of the Week. Over three games last week, he averaged 25.7 points, 17 rebounds, and 1.3 steals. His shooting has also improved, hitting 41.2% of his three-point attempts, a skill not seen during his time at the University of North Carolina.

“I’ve been working hard to expand my game, and I think you can see that on the court,” Bacot explained. “I want to show NBA teams that I can contribute in multiple ways.”

Currently, he averages 17.4 points and 10 rebounds per game this season in the G League. Fans of the Tar Heels will remember Bacot as the all-time leading rebounder for UNC, a title he has carried into his professional career.

“He’s been working on his rebounding and defense, and it’s really paying off,” Hustle coach Jason March noted. “Armando has the potential to be a huge asset in the NBA.”

Despite initially signing with a team that also drafted rising star Zach Edey, Bacot remains optimistic about his future in the NBA. “I know that if I continue to put in the work, opportunities will come,” he said.

The Hustle’s upcoming games will be crucial for Bacot as he seeks to maintain his momentum and possibly earn a call-up to an NBA roster.
