The upcoming 125th Army-Navy Game, scheduled for December 14 at Northwest Stadium in Landover, Maryland, will feature special uniforms for both teams, each honoring significant military units. The U.S. Naval Academy has unveiled uniforms that pay tribute to the esteemed Strike Fighter Squadron 103, known as the “Jolly Rogers.”

Navy’s uniforms are designed to mirror the Jolly Rogers’ aircraft tail design, featuring a dark navy cowl on the jersey and the iconic skull-and-crossbones insignia. The uniform includes collar striping and uniform numbers inspired by the Jolly Rogers’ classic tail fin markings. The sleeves feature angled stripes with nine triangles, honoring the nine aircraft models flown by the squadron. The helmet design combines traditional and modern elements, with chevrons and a sleek stripe running along the back, and the tagline “Fear the Bones” embedded on the interior collar and helmet bumper.

Meanwhile, the Army football team has unveiled uniforms that honor the legendary 101st Airborne Division, specifically their role in the Battle of the Bulge during World War II. The uniforms feature a “Bastogne” logo under the right shoulder pad and helmet markings used by 101st soldiers to identify their unit affiliations. The overall motif of the uniform reflects the fog and snow of the Ardennes forest, where the 101st Airborne Division fought a pivotal battle.

The Army’s helmets will display various unit markings, including the “Spade” card suit used by the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, which was featured in the HBO miniseries “Band of Brothers.” This year’s game coincides with the 80th anniversary of the start of the Battle of the Bulge, adding historical significance to the uniforms.
