Arsenal Seek Redemption Against Newcastle in Premier League Clash
Arsenal is set to face Newcastle United in a crucial Premier League match on Saturday, November 2, at St. James’ Park. The Gunners are looking to bounce back from two consecutive Premier League matches without a victory, having drawn 2-2 with Liverpool last weekend and suffering a defeat to Bournemouth prior to that. Arsenal did, however, secure a 3-0 win against Preston North End in the Carabao Cup midweek to reach the quarter-finals.
Newcastle United, on the other hand, are seeking their first league victory since mid-September. They recently secured a much-needed win against Chelsea in the Carabao Cup fourth round but lost to the same opponents in the Premier League last weekend. Newcastle will be boosted by the return of Anthony Gordon, who started against Chelsea after missing the previous match due to injury. However, they are still dealing with several defensive injuries, including Sven Botman, Jamaal Lascelles, and Kieran Trippier, and winger Jacob Murphy is out with a hamstring issue.
Arsenal’s defensive lineup is also under scrutiny due to injuries. Gabriel Magalhaes, who injured his knee during the draw with Liverpool, is a doubt but could be available if he completes a training session on Friday. Ben White is also uncertain due to a joint issue, and William Saliba will return from suspension. Other absentees for Arsenal include Martin Odegaard, Riccardo Calafiori, Kieran Tierney, and Takehiro Tomiyasu.
The predicted lineup for Arsenal includes David Raya in goal, with a defensive quartet that may feature Gabriel, William Saliba, Jurrien Timber, and possibly Thomas Partey at right-back if Ben White is not fit. The midfield is expected to include Declan Rice, Mikel Merino, and the attacking trio of Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, and Leandro Trossard, with Kai Havertz up front.
Newcastle’s lineup is likely to feature Nick Pope in goal, with a back four of Livramento, Schar, Burn, and Hall. Their midfield will be anchored by Tonali, Guimaraes, and Joelinton, while the attack could include Anthony Gordon, Alexander Isak, and Harvey Barnes.
The match, set to kick off at 12:30 PM on Saturday, will be broadcast live on TNT Sports 1 and TNT Sports Ultimate, with a live stream available on the Discovery+ app.
