Asake Teams Up With Travis Scott For New Single 'active'

Nigerian artist Asake is buzzing with excitement as he gears up for the release of his third studio album, ‘Lungu Boy’, which drops this Friday. His latest single, ‘Active’, features the popular Houston rapper, Travis Scott, and is already making waves online.

The song ‘Active’ comes with an energetic music video directed by Edgar Esteves and Josh Valle. In the video, Asake showcases his lively spirit through scenes of horseback riding and a vibrant encounter with a marching band. When Travis Scott makes an appearance, he’s seen perched on top of a car, while Asake dramatically swings a crowbar at its windows, adding to the madness of the visuals.

‘Lungu Boy’ marks Asake’s first major album release since last year’s ‘Work of Art‘. Asake is clearly ready to take his music to the next level after gaining significant acclaim for his previous hits. Last year, he expressed his surprise at becoming a superstar and shared that he wants listeners to connect with the soul in his music.

Alongside ‘Active’, the album will include the previously released track ‘Wave’, featuring British rapper Central Cee. Fans can also look forward to collaborations with heavyweights like Wizkid, Stormzy, and Ludmilla, making this album highly anticipated.

This month, Asake will embark on a world tour to promote ‘Lungu Boy’, with exciting stops planned in cities such as Detroit, Los Angeles, New York, Amsterdam, Berlin, Paris, and Dublin. His performance at Madison Square Garden will mark him as one of the few Nigerian artists to headline the iconic venue.
