Ash Barty and Casey Dellacqua are on a winning streak at Wimbledon 2024, having secured a spot in the women’s invitational doubles final at the prestigious All England Club. The Australian pair, who famously reached a Wimbledon final eleven years ago, remained unbeaten through the round-robin stage.

Their latest victory, a commanding 6-4 6-2 win over Johanna Konta and Coco Vandeweghe, ensured their place in the final. They will face the formidable duo of Kim Clijsters and Martina Hingis, the two-time defending champions who clinched their final berth with a narrow 7-5 7-5 win against Sam Stosur and Cara Black.

Kim Clijsters, the former world No.1 in both singles and doubles, expressed her excitement at facing Ash Barty, who is 13 years her junior, on the legends tour. Clijsters jokingly remarked on the generational shift and even suggested that Barty could make a successful professional comeback, drawing inspiration from her own career.

Aside from the women’s invitational doubles, Australian tennis legends Lleyton Hewitt and Mark Woodforde have also advanced to finals in their respective invitational doubles events, adding to the Aussie presence and success at Wimbledon this year.
