Aspinall Calls Out Jones Amid Uncertainty in UFC Heavyweight Division

LAS VEGAS, NV — UFC heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall has publicly expressed his frustration with Jon Jones, who has been absent from the octagon for an extended period. During a recent show, Aspinall declared he is done waiting for Jones to return to fighting.
“Jon’s retired,” Aspinall said. “What are you talking about? You guys don’t follow Jon on social media? The guy is living his best life.” Aspinall pointed out that it has been over a year since there has been significant movement regarding a title unification bout between the two champions.
Aspinall emphasized the need to progress within the heavyweight division, saying, “I’m the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world. I’m ready to take on all comers, get this division moving again.” In recent months, contenders in the division have grown restless due to the inactivity sparked by Jones’ uncertain status.
Although Jones has not formally announced his retirement, he has not indicated he is preparing to step back into the ring. “If one guy is thinking about retiring, he’s retired,” Aspinall stated. “I ain’t thinking about retiring. I’m thinking about getting this division active, making the heavyweight division great again.”
Aspinall, who has held the interim title for just under 600 days, expressed his desire to have exciting matchups and is ready to fight again soon. “I’m not looking to fight Jon Jones. I want to be the UFC undisputed heavyweight champion. It doesn’t matter who it is—Alexander Volkov, Jailton Almeida, whoever. I want to fight everybody,” he said.
Aspinall concluded with praise for Jones, wishing him success in his future endeavors. “Let’s not talk about Jon Jones anymore. I’m the active guy, I’m going to fight somebody, and that’s going to be announced pretty soon,” he said.
