Astros Face A’s in Hopeful Two-Game Series

HOUSTON, Texas — The Houston Astros and the Oakland Athletics are set to kick off a two-game series tonight at Minute Maid Park. The games will be held on May 27 and 28 as the teams clash in an ongoing 13-game season series.
The first game starts at 7:10 PM CT, featuring pitchers JP Sears (4-4, 4.00 ERA) for the Athletics and Hunter Brown (6-2, 2.04 ERA) for the Astros. The second game follows tomorrow at 1:10 PM CT, with Luis Severino (1-4, 4.11 ERA) of the A’s facing off against Lance McCullers Jr. (0-1, 6.57 ERA).
The Athletics, now based in Sacramento, face unique challenges this season, as they do not have a home field in the city. Despite a decent start, they now sit in last place in the American League West. Recently, the A’s have struggled significantly, posting an 0-9 streak before a recent win broke the slump.
After this “miniseries,” the Astros will continue their homestand hosting four consecutive games. The upcoming contests provide a crucial opportunity for both teams as they look to shift their fortunes in the tight AL West division.
