Atalanta to Face Sporting CP in UEFA Europa League Round of 16
Atalanta has been drawn to face Sporting Clube de Portugal in the last 16 of the 2023/24 UEFA Europa League following the draw in Nyon.
The matches are set to take place with the first leg at the Estádio José Alvalade in Lisbon on Wednesday 6 March, and the second leg at the Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo on Thursday 14 March.
The reunion comes after the two teams previously clashed in the Group Stage of the competition and Sporting CP emerged victorious against Young Boys in the play-offs.
Italy will be well-represented in the Europa League Round of 16, with Roma and Milan also set to compete on the European stage.
The matches have been scheduled with Atalanta playing on March 6, Roma on March 7, and Milan also on March 7 but with a later kick-off time.
A return to Rome for Roberto De Zerbi is anticipated as Brighton will face Roma in the Round of 16, while Milan will play Slavia Praha in their fixture.
All three Italian clubs will contest the second legs a week later on March 14, aiming to advance further in the competition.
