Tgl Golf Finals Teams Competing

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. — The inaugural Tomorrow’s Golf League (TGL) season will culminate with a best-of-three finals series beginning Monday night, featuring Atlanta Drive Golf Club against New York Golf Club at the SoFi Center. Both teams secured their spots in the finals after dramatic semifinal victories last week.

Atlanta Drive, led by Justin Thomas, Patrick Cantlay, and Billy Horschel, defeated The Bay Golf Club 9-3 in the semifinals. Their performance was solidified after a strong showing on the greens and strategic use of the league’s unique Hammer system, which allows players to double their points on certain holes.

The New York Golf Club also achieved an impressive win, stunning the top-seeded Los Angeles Golf Club 6-4. They will look to avenge their previous 4-0 loss to Atlanta Drive in January, marking the first shutout in TGL history. Matches are set for 9 p.m. ET on Monday (ESPN2) and Tuesday (ESPN), with an additional match slated for Tuesday if necessary.

“Our team has been playing well at the right time,” said Thomas. “I like our chances. It’s going to be a lot of fun.”

Both teams will announce their lineups prior to the second match, adding to the anticipation of what is expected to be an exhilarating finale for the league. Atlanta Drive has seen standout performances from Thomas, who leads the league in singles points, and Horschel, who has been a consistent performer.

New York Golf Club, while traditionally strong in triples format, is eager to build on recent successes. The team has gone 3-0-1 in its last four matches, making them a competitive force heading into the finals.

“We need to grab points early in the triples to create a cushion for singles,” said New York’s Xander Schauffele. “Atlanta has dominated this season, but we believe we have the momentum necessary for success.”

The stakes in this inaugural finals are high. The winning team will divvy up a share of the $21 million purse, with $9 million allocated to the champions and $4.5 million for the runners-up. Fans will witness live broadcasts of this high-stakes event full of promising talent and thrilling golf action.

With strong support from their respective fanbases, both teams are prepared for the challenges ahead. TGL’s format, co-founded by golf legends Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, is designed to bring a new excitement to the sport, and the finals are poised to showcase the best of what the league offers.
